IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION
Board Meeting Minutes May 12, 2008
Lake Mills Municipal Building, 6:30 p.m.
Call to Order: 6:35 p.m. by Milt. Present - Milt
Strauss, Johanna Chworowsky, Larry Clark, Scott Johnson, Margaret
Krueger and Patricia Cicero.
Secretary’s Report: Minutes of April 14, 2008 meeting
approved.
Treasurer’s Report: As of April 30, 2008, account
balances were $7,156.09 in RLIA Checking and $4,186.48 in RLIA Savings
for overall total of $11,342.57. Jim will be asked if residents of
County Highway B are on mailing list because some did not get the
membership brochure this year or last year. Larry and Milt signed the
internal audit for the calendar year 2007. All was in order. A motion
was passed to accept the treasurer’s annual report for 2007.
Correspondence: No correspondence with Jim absent.
Johanna said Bob Jeffers called to say he would like to be an active
volunteer but did not want to be on the board. Milt wrote a personal
note to nine volunteers.
Joint Rock Lake Committee: Patricia said Town of Lake
Mills is clarifying its Slow No Wake ordinance to have the SNW go into
effect at 5 inches instead of six inches over the DNR maximum summer
level. The town is proposing a new pier ordinance. JRLC will make
recommendations next month, and town will hold a public hearing in the
future. RLIA members are encouraged to read the draft which will be
discussed before hearing.
Publicity Committee: Jim, Johanna and Margy will meet
to organize Town and Country Days display. Milt will find out if we need
a permit for display or tee shirt sales.
Adopt-A-Lake: Annual millpond and lake Clean-Up Day and
Garlic Mustard Pull at Korth Park will be held May 17 from 10 a.m. to
noon starting at Bartel’s Beach.
